Vote & Vax 2008 Election Day Coverage
A News & Events entry posted on November 12, 2008
With record crowds anticipated at the polls on November 4th Vote & Vax sites where ready. Six sites around the Commonwealth had plenty of staff and vaccines on hand, but the turnout numbers to the clinics were lower than we had hoped for. Still, over 1,200 flu vaccines were provided and those who received their flu vaccine thought the Vote & Vax campaign was an excellent idea. Mr. Charles McMurdo (pictured above) first voted and then received his flu shot at age 102. He stated "I think (the program) is great, now I’m through for the day!"
We are grateful for all of the help in preparation and success of the Vote & Vax campaign. A special thanks to : Anthem of Virginia, Maxim Healthcare Services, VCU School of Pharmacy, Staunton/Wayensboro/Augusta Health Departments, Augusta Medical Center, Roanoke City and Alleghany Health Districts and Inova Hospital.
