FDA Approves New Vaccine, Cervarix, for Prevention of Cervical Cancer

On October 16, FDA issued a press release announcing that it has approved Cervarix (GlaxoSmithKline) for use in girls and women ages 10 through 25 years to prevent cervical cancer and precancerous lesions caused by human papillomavirus (HPV)types 16 and 18.
